Lobotomy has some good footage of The xx on Vimeo. None are complete songs so I did not post the video. It’s worth checking out.
Here’s the link to VCR, it’s the longest video:

I don’t think you know this interview of them, it’s a “what is in the pocket of..” and the girl interviewed Romy and Oliver!
http://www.konbini.com/ Just clik on “konbini squarre” on the left then choose the “dans la poche de mel” (the third one) and then the XX are the “episode 5”
I’m sad that Romy didn’t get more attention; and that the interview is moving !!SO disturbing!
Well anyway, enjoy!

After Animal Collective’s installation / performance art at the Guggenheim [link], it seems like bands who want to be authentic will now be required to ‘get artsy’ and focus less on their buzzworthy mp3s, but instead on art installations that are related to their band brand. I am not sure if many bands are as ‘out there’ as AnCo, but seems like the XX just tried to make some ambient art, kinda like their music. Some artist bro named Karl Sadler made some sort of installation art piece. There are three pillars that have TV screens on them, and each member of the XX is shown playing his instrument for the duration of their album. It is sorta like going to their concert, except they are on video screens, and it is artsy. There are also ‘timed lights’ that vibe with the music. Do u think this is good for the XX’s brand? Does it make u want to stand in the center for 40 minutes, and just vibe out to their relevant 2009 album ‘xx’? Which band member’s screen do u think you would watch the most? Kinda miss Romy. Hope she’s okay Wonder what Oliver Sim has been up 2. R u okay, bro? Hope the other bro in the XX is okay, too. He has always seemed ‘distant’ tho… Feel kinda distant from them lately, like they need new buzz products to keep me engaged in their brand. This performance art is kewl and all, but I am not sure if I can travel to the United Kingdom to be ‘immersed’ inside of their album for 40 minutes. Guess I’ll just have to ’settle’ for seeing them live at a ‘boring ass club’ with tons of other entry levs. Wonder if the XX should invite Karl Sadler into their band as a ‘visual artist’ to replace the missing ethnic girl who they kicked out.THE ALT REPORT
(I don’t like the tone of this at all, but It’s worth posting XX JENI XX)

I wonder if this bro is ‘relieved’ that the 4th member of the XX was kicked out so he had ‘less work’ and he was able to create a ‘triangle’ of space instead of a ’square’

Do u like the emerging trend of ‘bands getting artsy’?
Is ‘getting artsy’ a required part of being an authentic indie buzzband within the high level internet criticismsphere?
Do u prefer the XX as artists over Animal Collective?
Will Animal Collective and the XX go ‘head to head’ in 2k11?
Will I ever get the chance to stand in a relevant buzz space?
Is the future of buzz and perceived authenticity thru art design and memes and architecture and ’space’?
